With many of our patients asking me this question, I thought we would see what our fans thought of this.
Recent figures show that patients trying to save money by becoming ‘dental tourists’ might find that ultimately it is a false economy.
The average cost of a dental implant in the UK apparently stands at £1,918 compared with about £660 across 17 European countries, with a range between £346 and £1,100. When the costs of flights, hotels and revisits are factored in the ‘real’ total per implant by travelling outside the UK is estimated to be closer to £1,845. Averages hide extremes so while some will have done well and got a bargain others will have come off considerably worse, especially when one takes into account the well rehearsed pitfalls associated with distance, trust and quality.
I would love to hear your views on this topic.
