Dr Singh from aesthetics carrys out botox in hertfordshire and gives his comments on this typically asked question.
Straight after the treatment, you would normally have a slight swelling where we have injected. Sometimes this can bleed or leave a red mark. This is normal and there is nothing to worry about. This swelling and redness should last a maximum of 20minutes.
Sometimes if the injection needle hits a vein, you may get a larger swelling or bruising. In this case your practitioner should compress and press hard against the swelling for at least a couple of minutes. You should also be advised to palce some ice on the area immediatley after the treatment.
Your skin will gradually to feel tighter in the next 2-3 days and the full effect of the botox should take place after 2 weeks. You should be called back for a review at this 2 week interval to see if you require any additional botox.
