What are Frown Lines?

Frown lines appear on the forehead, generally making them quite the prominent feature of the face. They can be horizontal lines between the eyebrows and the hairline, or vertical lines between the eyebrows. Frown lines are mainly caused by ageing but can additionally be caused by many other things: exposure to sunlight, smoking, a bad diet, not enough hydration to name a few.

How can Frown Lines Botox® Anti-Wrinkle Treatment enhance my appearance?

Frown lines can be easily treated using precise administration of Botox®* injections into the fine dynamic facial muscles. These anti-wrinkle injections can be used to prevent lines from developing/deepening, or to soften existing lines. The elimination of the frown lines & wrinkles leads to a more rested, approachable, and fresh appearance and an overall more youthful look.

Will Forehead Botox® remove all my lines and wrinkles?

The lines that remain once the expression is neutral are called static lines. Cleansing, toning, applying serums and moisturising twice daily can help to fade these lines. Opt for skincare lotions with active ingredients such as Retinol.

The creases that exist during the facial expression are called dynamic lines. To treat frown lines, and to prevent static lines from getting any more prominent, we recommend anti-wrinkle injectable treatments, such as Boxtox® for frown lines.

During the initial consultation we will discuss the options and create a bespoke treatment plan, going over the benefits and possible side effects. We’ll take a few ‘before’ photos for you to compare the before and after results once the treatment has finished.

During the Frown Lines Botox® Treatment.

*For the frown lines, we tend to use Botox®, a botulinum toxin that was designed specifically for aesthetic purposes that is MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved. The active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, is a neurotoxin that stops nerves releasing a chemical signal to muscle cells, preventing these muscles from receiving stimulation, and relaxing them. Botox® is injected into the fine dynamic facial muscles to cause a temporary relaxation of the muscles that improves the appearance of frown lines, which can appear smoother or even disappear altogether.

After the Frown Lines Botox® Treatment.

After the treatment, the positive effects of the treatment are not visible immediately – within 2 weeks, especially when compared to the ‘before’ photos. The effects of this treatment will typically last around 4 months. Patients can return to their normal daily life immediately after the treatment. Try to avoid touching and keep the area clean. Also, try to sleep on your back facing up. You might experience slight side effect inconveniences in the treated area, such as swelling or mild bruising. These side effects typically only last between 1 and 3 days.
