What is Lip Filler?
Lip fillers are dermal fillers specially designed to add shape, structure and volume to the lips. These fillers contain hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that our body creates naturally, and already exists in all parts of our body. Hyaluronic acid slowly degrades over time as we age which means the treatment isn’t permanent.

Lip fillers can be used in a variety of ways, and depending on the amount injected, a lip filler treatment could be considered if you want to create fuller yet natural looking lips, enhance the shape and symmetry and overall help to restore a more youthful, rejuvenated look.
A Patient’s Experience of Lip Filler
I’m no stranger to facial aesthetics, I’ve been having my lips done for the last 3-4 years. I’d previously had lip filler at a different clinic before switching to Aesthetics Life and will never look back.
My reason for having lip filler is down to a lifelong insecurity. When I was a child, I split my lip open, and consequently my top lip grew uneven. One side was always higher than the other and I relied on lip liner to make them seem even until I plucked up the courage for lip filler.
My experience of having lip filler at Aesthetics Life is the perfect combination of friendly and professional. Despite being colleagues, Dr Toni sat me down for a consultation to discuss what I wanted to achieve from this treatment, to determine whether he could achieve my desired result. We walked through any questions I had, worries and had any risks and complications explained.
After my consultation, it was time for the numbing. I’d never had dental block as a numbing agent before. I’d always used numbing cream but still always felt the pain through this. Dr Toni reassured me that the injections may cause me slight discomfort, but they aren’t painful – and he was right! The injections were slightly uncomfortable but bearable. I instantly felt my mouth starting to go numb and felt like my chin was huge!
Once the numbing had kicked in, we began the treatment. It was completely pain free! Half the time I didn’t know whether the needle was in my lip or not. The treatment took around 20 minutes I would say, which was no time at all.
After my treatment, Dr Toni handed me a mirror to see the finished res ult and I was immediately blown away. My uneven top lip was now symmetrical, I had a nice natural plump which I wanted and the shape enhanced my naturally prominent cupids bow. After 2-3 days, my small swelling had gone down and I was left with my perfect pout. My recovery time was very minimal and I had no bruising or discomfort.
