What is cellulite?
The ‘orange peel’ appearance of cellulite is caused by the fat cells underneath the skin. When these cells are increased, they start to push through the overlaying fibrous, connective tissue. The fibrous tethers mean that as the fat is pushed up, it herniates through the spaces and produces a dimpled look on the outside of the skin, called cellulite. The condition is harmless and is common. A large proportion of the population has it, meaning you are not alone if you are worried about it. Cellulite is typically found around the flesh of the thighs, buttocks and hips.
Put simply, imagine an old-fashioned string shopping bag with a panna cotta inside it and how this would bulge between the bag’s strings!
It is true that if you are carrying a few too many pounds, the cellulite will stand out more and appear more obvious. However, cellulite has a lot to do with genetics and hormones as well. Anyone can get cellulite. Those that suffer from cellulite is down to the way that they store fat and the structure and shape of their fat cells. Luckily, Aesthetics Life is on hand with effective cellulite treatment.
