Stiff new curbs on Botox® jabs
UNTRAINED beauticians and hairdressers will be banned from carrying out Botox® jabs and laser hair removal to slash botched procedures.
A review is set to recommend that formal qualifi cations for all practitioners should be enshrined in law.
NHS medical director Sir Bruce Keogh carried out the cosmetic surgery industry review following the PIP breast implants scandal.
He said some practitioners administering nonsurgical treatments had no training at all and procedures were “largely unregulated”. He added: “This leaves people exposed to unreasonable risks, and possibly permanent damage.”
