Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog shares his thoughts on botox in the lower third of the face.
Botox® is most commonly used in the upper third, where botox injections are normally placed in the forehead, frown and eye areas. However botox can be used wherever there are muscles!
More advanced botox treatments can now also treat other areas such as bunny lines around the nose, chin softening, lip wrinkles such as smoker lines, TMJ problems, large jaw muscles, migraines and to lift the corners of the mouth.
In the upper third of the face the muscles are large and botox works very well. In the lower third of the face the botox injections need to be baby stepped as these are generally smaller muscles. The botox patient would then return after 2 weeks and any necessary top ups would be administrated.
The botox results will normally be seen round 2 weeks and should last from anything between 3 and 6 months.
