Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic from Stevenage in Hertfordshire shares in his latest blog how botox is made.
Botox® is made from botulinum toxin type A, which comes from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium.
Botox® is produced from a purified protein of the Type A toxin, one of seven toxins produced by different strains of the bacterium.
Botox® can be used in small doses to treat health problems, including
- Severe underarm sweating
- Cervical dystonia – a neurological disorder that causes severe neck and shoulder muscle contractions
- Blepharospasm – uncontrollable blinking
- Strabismus – misaligned eyes
