Under eye bag causes
Bags under the eyes are generally caused by the ageing process. The tissue under and around the eyes can become puffy due to fat moving into the lower eyelids. This fat is usually there, and it supports the eye but as we age, this can move due to the muscles around the eye becoming weaker.
You can help to alleviate some of the puffiness by treating eye bags at home. Try using cold compresses or cooled steeped teabags. Green tea is a good source of antioxidants and has been found to have anti-inflammatory effects. Again, staying hydrated is important and can help prevent extra puffiness in that region. Lastly, a good way to treat bags under the eyes is to use skin products which contain retinol, as they help to alleviate signs of the ageing process.
