Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog shares his thoughts on men having botox treatments.
As a nation we generally associate the use of Botox® with women however in recent years that gap has been closing in. Clinics across Britain have reported that more men are opting to have Botox® injections, also known as ‘Brotox’ to relax the facial muscles to minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
Clinics saw a 40 per cent increase in men having the wrinkle-busting Botox® injections last year. And one of the main reasons behind this increase is the economy.
Men are more proactive and open to wanting to look better, feel healthier, more confident, increase their mood, help boost their self- esteem and they feel it gives them that competitive edge. There is less of a stigma associated with men having cosmetic procedures done.
Why the huge shift?
Men are increasingly feeling pressurised to look their best, youthful and appear more attractive. Botox® treatment are a quick fix, no time off is required, relatively pain free and does not require invasive surgery.
There has been an increase in couples separating or divorcing. This new single life is bringing more men into the Botox® market to improve their chances to finding a new relationship, boost the way they feel about themselves. Some men want to look younger to enhance their career prospects or gain a specific promotion, especially in industries where the staffs are of younger age.
