Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic from Stevenage, Hertfordshire in his latest blog talks about how botox can be used to control migraines.

Botox®, the anti-wrinkle treatment is recommended for the treatment of chronic migraine on the health service .

The medicines regulator MHRA says there’s evidence Botox® can be effective at preventing headaches in adults with chronic migraines.

Botox® may offer a safe and effective preventative treatment option to help people with chronic migraine manage their migraine and improve their quality of life.

Research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2012 found Botox® injections provide modest benefit for migraines and headaches.

Migraine affects an estimated six million people in Britain.

The drug works by paralysing tiny muscles in the head and neck when injected under the skin. The effect is to smooth out frown lines and wrinkles but has also been shown to ease the pain of chronic migraine sufferers.
